Who were the first people on Earth and where?

This is a very difficult question to answer, since none has given us a proved response!
For example, most Christians and Jews believe that Adam and Eve were the first, but reading Talmud and Old Testimony, Genesis, First Book, we see that Gos created Adam and Eve. Later, when Cain killed Abel, he left to the land of other people where he got women and made many children, thus, before Adam and Eve there were many - many people. Further, according to the Jews and the Christians (at least up to some years ago, Adam was created less than 6,000 years ago; now there are proves that there were people millions of years before that!)
From archaeological and anthropological finding in North Greece and Crete, there were people at least 13 million years ago!
The so called Lucy in Africa is "newer" and not human, it was a monkey!
Thus, according to the proves up to now, the first standing and thinking people, making tools, using fire, live in groups, ...., have been found in Greece!

Hello!
It is a matter of education. Some have been thought of being descendants of monkeys, others created by some god, others that came from another planet, a few that it is a strange outcome of some natural combination and so on!
In majority, I agree with Cosmos.
I have been fortunate to meet and discuss with Dr. Poulianos, one of the most prestigious anthropologists, with studies and work in Greece, the USA and the Soviet Union!
Further, I have visited the cave of Petralona, Chalkidiki, North Greece and the museum of www.aee.gr.
From the cave (which is a superb beauty cave) and around it, there are many findings proving the existence of intelligent human life dated older than 13.5 million years!
Also, there are skull and bones that are more than a million year old, which belong to standing human being, surprisingly similar to us today.
Also, there are findings with control fire places, dated more than 4 million years old, with food, bones etc. around it, while the fire was protected by stones all around it.
Also, among the findings from North Greece to Crete, Greece, are tools dated more than 13 million years ago.

Two answers - depending on what you believe! - According to God - Adam and Eve were the first two. According to Darwin - we evolved! - I tend to go with science - Try and see if you can find the series that was run on A&E - "Out of Africa" - you should be able to rent it. According to science - we ALL started out in Africa - therefore making each and every one of us "of color". and of course you know that "of color" mean "black"..
