Ok time for my mythological conjunction of what you will probably write off as a misconstrued poor white mans view. Now we can say that states like Mississippi are the most racist on facts of past times. In the modern times the racism has actually dropped off a bit. Yes there are still a lot of racist people there, from both sides, but more and more people are growing up in more diverse neighborhoods. They are actually getting along much better then before. When I hear the word racism it makes me roll my eyes and say “oh god here we go again”. I literally do that. I have grown up in California in a very much diverse neighborhood. My best friend growing up that lived two houses down from me was black. On Sundays I would go to church with him and his family. Growing up I never looked at race, but learned that many other people do. I have seen and been on both sides of the fence and have learned that California is the most racist state. In California at a Job you have all kinds of rights. If you have a problem well then just call the H.R. department. (Human resources) They will be there to make sure that you are represented to the fullest. I was personally told that they stand sure to protect certain groups. At first when I heard this I did not understand, it was not until a week later that I figured out that the lady was talking about different types of people and races. Now you see she was not talking about protecting me being as I was a white man. No I would get represented just not like if I were lets’ say black. Well not just black but a minority, but it does not stop there, oh no, if I were a gay man or a lesbian I would be privy to special rights and protection. Yes it is true I know even hard to swallow, I know I am just a dried out cracker that is it. Truly though in California if you are a minority or part of G.L.A.A.D. you get more rights and there is always someone there to fight for you say like the A.C.L.U. whoopee!!!! You just do not see it. Now for the bombshell, it is not just white people that are discriminated against it is also Africans. No I am not talking about you Mr. I change what you can call me like the wind black man that grew up in America. I am talking about the non sagging pants, decent looking, and perfect English African immigrant. I was watching the channel 3 news one morning and they were talking about some school scores then went into a piece about how black people where getting upset because Africans were getting jobs over them. My jaw dropped and I lost the air in my lungs to laugh. I could not believe my ears and eyes. These NAACP, race card pulling babies were mad because they were losing jobs to respectable and usually well more educated Africans. I probably need to cut it here could write a whole novel on this crap.
Please feel free to respond to my hypothesis in further posts or if you like just call Jesse Jackson for some Affirmative action…Government Racism.

You know I have not been in a lot of states and I don't think you can blame or judge a state by its forefathers behavior. Those people don't exist anymore...it needs to be judge " in the now". I hear that Georgia and Alabama are still very racist against black people....I would not know personally because I have never been there. I have been raised in California and from what I understand California and New York seem to be the most current as far as "less" prejudice. Racism is for lame and uneducated people .. there are a s s holes in every race and every culture and any religion...I choose not to group an entire race or culture based on a few assholes. Make your decision about individual people based on your individual experiences with them.....good Luck!!

The past is over, I've lived in 13 states because of my job.
Most racism issues that are brought up go back more generations than any present living Americans can begin to relate to. Racism (black vs. white variety) is far less than it was 40 years ago. In Columbus, Ohio there are many fights between American blacks and Somalians. Heh, go figure. Ive been on Job sites with 50-1 ratio of blacks to whites, and vice versa, no problems at all, mature working men and women have no problems. The 'rhyming reverends' make a ton of money spewing racism. I'm not so naive as to say racism does not exist, sure it does, but not to the extent one would derive from the rhyming rev.s or some of the media bandwagoners.

Having spent some time in most of the states, I would have to say that all states are prejudiced. The south is, or has traditionally been, more open with their racism. I don't think hiding it helps. Pretending that it doesn't exist doesn't make it go away.
Everyone wants to be loved and accepted.

Maybe a better way to find the answer is to see which states have the less diverse population mix.
Saying and doing are always two different things.

The word "Atheist" has a foul connotation further onto it because of the fact of how human beings experience in the direction of it. Kindof like th N word. actually, it does not say something appropriate to the colour of a individual's pores and skin, it only has undesirable connotation linked to it. So the connotation for the word atheist is "evil" "satanic" or "undesirable individual." particularly in the bible belt, the place I stay. each and every time somebody mentions the word "atheist" human beings without delay anticipate "devil worshipper."
