I think it is just peoples tendency to deviate from the norm. They feel that if they do agree with each other they are not a leader and everyone who is or was in a leadership position wants to sustain that leadership position and therefore take upon another side of the argument not because it is necessarily better but because they feel that by doing so they are creating a sect or a separate entitiy to challenge authority or common thought. This makes poeple feel powerful and essentially everyone wants some form of power. Although this may be a weighty assumption but for the purpose of this argument we can all say that humans are born greedy and corrupted and everyone wants something whether it be peace or war. Therefore it is safe to assume because we are all human some of us need or want to have a leadership role in society. I mean here if your not a leader your a follower, and as a follower you will spend most of your life if not all of it sitting there taking orders from people. Therefore it is only logical that if people want to be leaders they need to take a side or create a form of opposition or even create a group that has similar ideals but have different gods or rubbish like that [bloody religion] Therefore we can conclude that people simply like arguing for the sake of arguing because we want to have a leadership role or to feel superior to others. And if we win or feel superior to our opponnent we gain respect and rubbish. This is why we argue, there is no one essential TRUTH that EVERYONE agrees on. Many people may simply just hate love, or roses, or flowers or any of that stuff.

No, there are too many awkward provocative types. They wouldn't be able to agree with the question, never mind the answer. Basically, they want their own way, and proving that they were right massages their ego's. Women also tend to lose respect for men who always agree with them. This is a bit difficult when it is said that it is pointless arguing with a women. To handle questions relating to Politics, Sociology etc, because the potential for differing views is almost limitless, you have to first agree on a set of basic moral values, and I would prefer these to be derived from religion, eg 'ten commandments', rather than plucked from the air by non believing left wing philosophy professors.

Everybody is so unique that there will always be differing points of view. Except about corn. I've never heard of anybody who doesn't like corn. But I'm sure you'll hear from a corn-hater before all is said and done. That's what makes us all different. I just don't ever want to meet a corn-hater.

We all agree that whatever the topic, someone will disagree with it.
Debate can arise out of disagreement so it is not necessarily a bad thing.
Although quite often the words are arbitrary and the sentiment is 'I should be in charge'.

People just like to be different sometimes.
There are still people that believe the world is flat, I have never understood why but if that is what they want why argue.

i think people like arguing, however the only issues you are likely to hear about are the ones that there is an argument, the other problem is there will always be someone who wants to be difficult.

I think everybody in the world agrees that we all need love. A few people won't admit it, of course, but we know they need love. And they know that we know....
