If a couple have difficulty conceiving even after a year of unprotected intercourse, it usually indicates fertility problems. Giving birth to a baby is not something that a woman can do alone and inability to do so naturally indicates medical problems with either of you. So he cannot outrightly condemn you for not being able to give him a baby. Both of you need to talk and understand that a visit to fertility clinic is important. The doctor there can help you and suggest many other options like IVF, if needed. Unless you have very serious problems in you, there is no reason that you cannot give birth. Be optimistic.

Your temperature does not always drop on ovulation day. The only thing keeping track of your basal body temperature does is tell you the day after you ovulate. Your do it a couple of months so you learn your cycle and your predicted ovulation.

I would highly recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It will teach you everything you could possibly need to know to get pregnant. Also, if you find you do need to go to a fertility doctor, you will be ahead of the game. B/c you be able to give your doctor a lot of information about your cycles by providing your charts.

Pookie, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

i too was having trouble in falling pregnant. we tried for 3yrs and eventually went to the dr's who refferred us to the fertility clinic. we were tobe having our 1st appt on the 5th of dec. i have since discovered that i am 5 wks pregnant. some people say its because i relaxed knowing that something was going to be getting done at the clinic. try and relax and don't let it over take everything in your life. i know how difficult and upsetting it is but honest there is hope. the very best of luck xxxxx
