At about 6 months, start with rice cereal, then veggies, then fruits, last of all will be meats. Only introduce one new food at a time, and don't introduce another new food for about 4-5 days. You are doing this to check to see if there are any food allergies. You want to introduce veggies first before fruit 'cuz once they taste the sweet stuff, they're not going to want to eat anything else. But keep nursing your baby all through this, that will be her biggest source of nutrition. No cow's milk until 1 years old, and only whole milk until 2 years old. After that if you want to go to 2% or Fat Free, that's ok, but when they are 1 they need that extra fat because they'll be growing at a phenominal rate.

My Doctor told me to start out at 4 months on cereal the go to yellow vegtables then green then fruits (m because if you do fruits first they will like the sweet tast and note want to go anything else) you should not give them solids until they have the teeth to handle it depends on the kid probablly at a year can do things like mashed potatoes and mashed up things just remeber they say the early a highly common thing to be allergic to is introduce the more likely the chiold will be alllergic to it so hold off on peanut butter and things with nuts and shellfish and strawberrys til after the child is 4 years old

It's not suggested until 6 mos of age, per the AAP. Starting solids earlier doesn't make a lot of sense as they can't digest it until around then. Plus, starting too early increases the chances of allergies, diabetes and obesity.

I would start with rice cereal when you feel like he is not getting satisfied with only milk. Then gradually add some fruit to the cereal. Vegetables and meats should come last. Their little digestive systems cannot tolerate table food so don't try that.

The guideline is 6 months but I had to add a small amount of rice cereal to my 3 month old sons bottle to satisfy him and it worked wonders on keeping him sleeping and full filled.

There are lots of suggestions made in books, but the best course is to always ask your doctor, they will have the best idea of the baby's health and development.

Exactly when will depend on the child... but,
start with trying juices and cold herbal teas (chamomile mostly),
then increase to thicker juices - more like health drinks, and then go on to cream of wheat, or something of the like. Tiny tiny bits at first.
This sort of thing really shouldn't be answered with dates as it can range far too much based on the individual child.
Be attentive, try things slowly, and you'll know.

6 months old, unless you babys doctor recommends otherwise, & breast milk or formula will still be the majority (almost all) of their diet.
