Does it mean that during the 1 year nursing, you are not ovulating and having your period at all? If your period is normal and not using any safety precaution during intercourse, you will soon be able to be conceived anytime. Hope to hear the good news from you soon!!

The idea that you cannot get pregnant is a myth, and most women find out with a "suprise" second baby! Countries where women have many children and nurse them for three or four years each show clearl y that this is true.
Your ovulation may just be skewed - I would start with a takehome ovulation test before you worry. There's no need to wean your baby just yet unless you want to.

Nursing does not keep you from getting pregnant. Look back years ago when women nursed for long periods of time and still had babies close together. So that will not keep you from getting pregnant.
You should be thinking about weaning your baby soon.

Maybe. You don't say if you've at least had normal periods since your first child or if you had problems getting pregnant the first time. Most babies are weaned from the breast much earlier than their first birthday and switch from formula to cow's milk when they are one. You gave your child a great start, so if you decide to wean, it shouldn't be a problem. It may be a little harder to switch at first, but it should be ok! Good luck!

You can get pregnant while nursing, I have twice no trouble. Yor son is now eating solids, even if you still have gotten no period you can. Nursing is by no means birth control it can help deter pregnancy but only for the 1st few months of life.

Simple. The reason why you got pregnant again is the same reason why you got pregnant this first time.
It's not unusual...it happens! As far as weaning...your choice.
Congratulations!
