I would like to know the effects to US firms, especially the bad impacts. Why some people agree RMB revalue while some disagree?

No bad effects except to those that have direct investments in China or rely on imports from China (such as Walmart that sells them). RMB revaluation would put up the US dollar price of goods made in China.

depends if you revalue the RMB to be more valuable or less valuable.

The problem is the RMB is artificially low. This benefits global consumers of Chinese imports and Chinese export producers. Conversely this disadvantages producers outside China who compete with Chinese exporters and Chinese consumers who want to buy American products.
