I would probably just hit him in the head with a skillet.
There is no reason for being as insulting as he is. He can yell all he wants and that is okay. He starts calling people names and he has crossed the line from being demanding to being contemptable.
So, Yes, I would hit him in the head with a frying pan just to shut him up.
Of course, the people he gets on his show are stupid if they cannot learn one menu in all the weeks hey are with him and yet they think they deserve a restaurant of their own.
That is ridiculous.

You've obviously never worked in a kitchen before - this is how it is at times, if the restaurant wants to be succussful anyway. I've worked in kitchen with chef who are far less talented than Gordon Ramsay but still demanded a high standard - if it wasn't met, insults came.
I've also met Gordon Ramsay and found him to be a charming man. He demands perfection because he is one of the greatest chefs in the world

Thing is though he may be a failed footballer but he is a very successful Chef!
He has 3 Michelin stars which he worked his ar/se off for and he has several very successful restaurants. If I was any good in the kitchen and if I wanted to learn from one of the best then I would put up with it for as long as possible. That's not to say I'd enjoy it mind!
Although also worth remembering, the TV shows are designed to set him off! What's the point of doing a show with a nice, sympathetic, calm and there for bloody boring Chef?! None.

Never been a chef or in the business but thats the way the kitchens are ran. Watched faking it once and it was a burger flipper trying to pull off a chef jobs. He was walking around going do this mate, cheers mate etc and the kitchen staff ended up turning round on him and saying look, what you're doing isn't the way its done, bark orders at us its the way its done and we don't take it personal.
I think he's the best tv chef around. And he doesn't seem to swear that much, if at all when he isn't in the kitchen.

I've was a professional chef for 15 years. I owned my own restaurant for six of those years and trained many young chefs in the same way. It's standard! He's a good honest bloke who is so passionate about his vocation that he won't take anything less than perfect. Good on him! He is the only celebrity chef who inspires me and makes me want to go back to being a chef! I could learn so much from him.

he's really not that bad. like i said to someone before, read "heat" or "kitchen confidential" and you'll see he's one of the nicest chefs out there. he just looks bad to people who don't know how incredibly abusive those fine dining kitchens are. incredibly long hours under incredible heat and yelling, cussing etc. are the norm, that's why he is the way he is!!!!!

I think he is excellent, he calls a spade a spade and doesn't take any sh1t from anyone, he wants people to be good at cooking and if they don't seem to come up to scratch he tells them, simple! By the way he wasn't a failed footballer, as I understand it he was injured......quite different.
You don't have to watch...

I wouldn't put up with him he is a very rude man. However having said that he does seem to give praise where it's due. However he does need to learn how speak to people. He gets so many peoples backs up...and then he just dismisses them as if it them and they have the problem, when in fact its him

I like him, he knows food and talks a lot of sense. I do think the overuse of the f word is unnecessary - he does it deliberately to shock. He wasn't brought up to swear as much as he does.

He's providing people with an income and training. If people don't like it then go elsewhere. They could always work in McDonalds. Or try running their own business and see how easy it is.
