No, you're totally right. I always thought that his understated approach was far more expressive than, say, his mate Clapton.
Then you factor in that he bankrolled Monty Python movies and was a decent human being - yep, I agree. I always thought that he was stiffed by both Lennon and McCartney. He was a great and expressive songwriter.
One telling example of his respect for his fellow humans; while Lennon was in a sack (literally) with Yoko, & McCartney was ... in Wings, George Harrison was organising concerts in Bangladesh to assist those who actually needed assistance.
God (Krishna, whoever) bless him.

"Something" is my all time favourite song. Full stop. I think Harrison was an underrated Beatle, partly because he wasn't a crazy good looker or a publicity hound.
His house was broken into a few months before his death and his wife saved him from a crazed fan by hitting the fan on the head with a lamp.
He lived a good life for many years, he kept on making decent music (I LIKED the Travelling Wilburys) and basically I respected George Harrison very much.
I think that there's a lot of us Harrison fans about, we're just not so noisy and attention-seeking as the rest :D. Just like George.

I am a Lennon guy, but I always loved George. He wrote some of the best love songs ever. I still love John a lot, but you aren't far off saying George is your favorite beatle. He was awesome. I wish I had a fingernail of George's talent.

I love George, but I also like to think that he just didn't need to be the center of attention that John Lennon and Paul McCartney were. John and Paul couldn't promote themselves enough. It kind of reminds me of how all you hear about the Rolling Stones is "Mick this" and "Keith that" when Charlie Watts, Ron Wood and Bill Wyman just kind of stand in the background being artists.

for specific. My order of selection is John, George, Paul, then Ringo. in simple terms cuz Ringo is final on my record does no longer mean something. I nonetheless love the hell out of him. as much as now as their solo careers pass John rather took the cake yet George grew to become into far extra smart, introspective and musically stimulating than Paul via margins. i think of absolutely everyone that knows something approximately this era will agree. yet yeah, what a uncooked deal on the songs. On Abby street, as an occasion, he purely did "something" and "right here comes the solar". do no longer those songs communicate for themselves what a terrific author he grew to become into. even with the indisputable fact that, he did write extra chord progressions than you probable understand on the different songs. I trust your assertion.

Yes, I think George's specific talents were overshadowed by the leviathan that was John and Paul.
