because according to the bible Jesus was never married or had a mate. It was believed he was a pure man. This belief has been held by the highest levels of the church..

So imagine if suddendly a 2000 year old belief that has held christianity together, was proven a lie.

Jesus was a person and a Deity. In the Bible it says Mary Magdalene was his "companion" and back then that meant that he was either married or spiritually involved with her. It is also documented that she was his closest and favorite follower. There could still be a blood line to Jesus, but if there is, we will never know because what happens in the Vatican, stays in the Vatican!!! LOL.

Could you imagine that all that stuff could be true (it isn't, I am sure, but let's loose our imagination) The whole world would fall in a chaos, because for centuries, millions of people have believed in Jesus as the savior, the Son of God, and reveal that could mean a catastrophe, total and worldwide skepticism, forever, no more God, no more Christianity, at least the God of Christians, others religions would feel happy, of course.

Because it would defy everything tha christianity has been build on. And the beliefs of millions would be tarnished. It would make Jesus a mere man and ungodlike.
