I have dark circles and when i apply eye efinition pencil or a liner they look darker, i don't like to put on too much of concealer, what should i do such that my eyes look brighter? I am brown so what color eye pencil would look good?

A copper-colored eyeliner would give you extra brightness and warmth around the eye area, and would look really good with your brown skin tone. Other warm mid-tone metallics work just as well... olive is a good bet. Metallic colors reflect light, so they're a great choice for brightening a dark area.

Warm colors are important because undereye circles have a grayish or blueish cool cast compared to the rest of the skin. You don't want to emphasize that by wearing blues, grays or purples.

You can wear dark eyeliner if you apply it over a lighter, frosty eyeshadow. Then you have a circle of dark eyeliner framed by a circle of light color, which negates the darkening effect.

Concealer really is your best bet. Maybe you aren't using the right brand? Some concealers have a superior light texture and blend seamlessly with your skin so you can hardly tell they're there. Test different ones at Sephora, Origins, or your local department store, and you may just fall in love with one.

I take it you mean you have brown skin coloring. Depending on your undertone, try using concealer with a red or coppery base. Something neutral in a shade similar to your skin color will always work. Neutrogena make a very good eye correction pen with a special ingredient to minimize darkness under the eyes. (I'm very light skinned and have the same problem.) As long as you gently blend in the concealer it won't look unnatural or feel annoying. Also, try brightening up your eye lids with lighter shadows that make your eye color stand out and curl your lashes. This will place the emphasis on your eyes and not the skin underneath them.

Do not put liner on your lower lids and put mascara only on your upper lashes. Mascara and liner can smudge from lower lashes and give you the look of dark circles. Also, never forget to curl your lashes (since straight lashes usually cast a shadow under the eyes).

Use a creamy yellow toned concealer, blend blend blend and set with loose powder. (try cinema secrets concealer)

don't use brown. maybe a purple, blue, or green. also to get the dark circles away without concealer, tap it gently to get the blood flowing and then put 2 spoons in the freezer for a few minutes and put them over your eyes for a few more minutes.
