I just got back from Casino Royale.. great movie.

But something confuses me. In every James Bond he battles terrorists for a reason. This time he's batteling them, but for no apparent reason. I have even looked in yahoo movies and it just says tracking a terrorist cell.

What was the money for? what was their goals? why was the woman involved in the end?

In other words, what the hell was Casino Royale really about?

Didn't pay much attention in the theater did you?

Bond stopped the plane bombing to save lives his foe LaChireffe was using the bombing to finance a terrorist group by investing in the stocks of other airline companies. Since Bond stopped the bombing it left LaC' owing a lot of money to the terrorists so he entered the poker game to get it back. Bond's mission was to beat LaC' and leave him with no choice but to turn himself over to MI6 for protection so they could find out who his bosses were.

Bond won which upset Mr. White who was the one behind the scenes and they turned Vesper by kidnapping her boyfriend and holding him for ransom. The ransom was the money Bond won. She cut a deal to get Mr. White back his money but unwittingly fell in love with Bond she knew she would probably be killed so she left clues for Bond to find Mr. White in case that happened.

In the next film we'll probably get more insight into the group Mr. White was a part of my guess is it's Bond's old foe SPECTRE.

The other Bond films will be made to seem as if they never happened. This is a whole new Bond.

well,, the money was for some "freedom fighters" army fighting somewhere in Africa (Madaghascar as I remember); now in this movie there was information about some potenial bombin, so 007 was sent there to stop it, he did so... and found out that the bombin (of the airplane) wasnt related to a terrorism activity directly; but to Le Chiffre; who works as a "broker" for terrorists wanted to use the bombing to raise money for those fighters. 007 mission then was to stop Le Chiffre and knows who stands behind him, where he succeded in the last scene where he found "Mr. White", the movie has some gaps; and finding Mr. white is one of these gaps; you see unless he fell in love with that lady and so on.

onething worth telling about the movie that it fell its shades on potential causes for one worlds most dramitc events, the bombing of 9/11; i am not gonna say what was said so i wont burn the movie for those who didnt watch it yet.
