Learn vocabulary, grammar (verb-noun agreement, sentences) and writing structures. It's hard to just write and write.
If you only need to write in Englsh, then you need to learn grammar and sentence and paragraph structures.
If You need to write essays, find the styles for the specific papers you write about. Introduction, Body, and Conclusion are main parts most essays ask for.
Narrative essays (telling story or event..) have simple style and structure.
Compare and Contrast have all causes in the first part, then the results in another part. Or one cause and followed after is the effect of its, and go on.
Research Papers are not too hard because most of the time you collect info. from sources and put them together in your own words with the info. from others.
Vice versa...

I would have my students copy books they liked, it would help them write better and they would look up words they didn't know.
or
You can buy english study books at a book store, they have great sections for the study of english both written and spoken.
