Sorry, Lexi320... tampons will absolutley not tear your hymen. If it did for you Lexi then you were using them WAY wrong.
Go for it, they are way more comfortable than the alternative.
They are perfectly safe for a virgin to wear and won't get anywhere near where a man goes for sex. It's ok.
As far as hygenics go... You are not exposing yourself to infection by using them, they come in a clean sterile package and you insert it with the actual tampon never touching anything until it is inside, you will be fine. As for the sensitive skin comment.... Pads are way more irritating to skin as it is directly on it for long periods of time and pads are a pain in the butt to change, tampons are 'no mess'. The person who made that comment must have never tried tampons as she is way misinformed on them. I started using them at 14 and was a virgin until 18 and am now 31. Would never go without!
Don't worry about it, you will be fine.

Using tampons does not effect your virginity status. I used them before I had sex and it didn't change me any. When you put tampon in right, you don't even feel it. There is a big difference between a tampon and a penis! You are fine! Just read the instructions in the tampon box and it will tell you the same thing!

If she wants, yes. It will not break her hymen. The hymen is not fully closed over and there is room for the tampon to go through. Tampons are much much smaller than men. But, it's not as if the hymen is an important piece of tissue. While the importance of virginity is debatable, the hymen is meaningless. Many women are born without hymens or break them playing sports or through masturbation and it's possible to engage in sexual intercourse without breaking a hymen for some women.

Menstrual blood is not 'dirty' and menstration is not 'cleaning yourself out' at all! I don't know where people got this idea but, it keeps popping up in this women health section. It's so annoying.

Your virginity has nothing to do with your mensturation. If you're doing sports such as swimming, they're essential. They do not affect your virginity status. That is corrupted when you have sex with a man. Tampons are not men. Good luck?

Yes. There's no reason not to. I started using tampons when I was a virgin.

Don't believe the first answer. She's wrong. Tampons do not tear your hymen.

I don't recommend for anyone to use tampons because they are unhygienic and cause infection. Think about it when you are menstruating your body is cleaning itself out. Would you really want for all the unclean stuff to sit in one place and expose bacteria down there? I don't mean to be so graphic about it but I personally think it is best for it to travel as nature intended and to use a feminine napkin. It is much easier to change it frequently this way and doesn't irritate the sensitive skin.
