First of all the lv logos should all line up and be symmetrical and the bag should be clean and neatly made. The natural cow hide handles should change color, and this process is often referred to as patina. As the bag ages the cowhide should change into a darker tone. Also authentic LV bags do not come with tags attached, and the brass zippers will have louis vuitton stamped on it. You should also be able to locate a date code inside the bag that tells you when it was made. If you are still not sure take it to a LV store and they will authenticate it for you.

Don't risk it. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Counterfeit designer goods is a multi-billion dollar a year industry and they're getting better and better - tough to tell a good fake from a real one. Your seller probably doesn't even know for certain since it doesn't even mention its authenticity. No one in their right mind would start an auction for the real thing, if THEY bought it at a LV store, so cheap anyways. The ONLY place where you know you're buying the real thing is at a LV boutique or an authorized retailer like Neiman Marcus. Otherwise, you're wasting your money and a LV boutique won't even verify them anymore. Save your money and get the real deal.

okay , usually if you buy a bag that is D&B , Coach , LV , or chanel , etc. they have serial code numbers on the inside of the bag that you use when you register the bag , so take a flash light and look on the inside of the bag for the serial number , if it is there than the bag is real

you don't. and really, who cares? unless you're planning to either a) buy it for lots of money, or b) sell it for lots of money.

if its cheap, its probably fake. but HECK, if it looks like the real thing, who cares!? enjoy IT and the leftover money you have and nobody will know the difference and you'll have a secret delight and dinero to buy a cool pair of new shoes, too!
