Yes I got my license 10 days after I turned 16. I failed the first time because I was so nervous and, being youngest of four kids, no one wanted to teach me how to drive. I got a car then, too. I don't think it should depend on what age you are, but how good of a driver and responsible you are. I was voted best driver in my school and have never wrecked or gotten a ticket. Can't say the same for my former classmates.

I got my license at 16 but I drove an old beater car until I was 19 and my parents bought me a new car for my H.S graduation. The only reason I had the beater was because I had a child when I was young and my family didn't want to be responsible for anything that had to do with parenting. I'm glad they did things the way they did. Sometimes you don't see the briiliance in your parents until you're one yourself. I started see my mothers genius at a young age. But I wouldn't change any of my raising for anything in the world. My mom taught me to be the best person I could be and then go beyond that!!! So I'm proud of that also.

well maybe yes maybe no, statistically a 16 yr old driver gets into an accident within the first 6 months of driving on their own. I think your parents did the right thing. I paid my own insurance, and for tires. It was very popular for the kids to do donuts and burn outs in their cars but since I had to buy the tires I did not want to abuse them. I am glad you bought your own car.

No, I got mine when I was 18. And I am glad I did. I feel 16 is too young to get a license. At 18, I had two years of driving experience with another licensed driver, so I felt more confident on being on my own.

I think so too.
I don't quite have my permit yet, but my parents are willing to get me a car only because they have to work a lot, adn they can't drive me where I need to go. Plus, they need an extra person to get the groceries >.<
♥
I agree, your parents did do a good thing. I'm also glad to hear you can respect that they did, because most teens would never see it from your point of view.

some states gained't provide help to get your license earlier 18 when you're literally not a severe college graduate (i have self assurance Florida is one). Congratulations on chucking up the sponge through how, i assume you'd be suckling off the federal teat now? Oh, for sure not, you'll write back about hardships, and helping your household, and how problematic life is, boo hoo hoo. further information: oooh, nailed it.

Yes but my birthday was in July and I didn't get it until the beginning of October. I failed it once I believe some time in August. I did trash my car in December but it was old and not worth anything and pretty easy to fix. My mom had just gotten a new car earlier that year and she just kept her old eleven year old one. I wasn't being wreckless it just happened. But I'm glad I could drive then because I did a lot of extracurriculars and I had a job, and my mom was glad she didn't have to go to school to get my brother and then go home, and then go get me after practice and then back home, and then take me to play practice in the evening, and then go pick me up again.

I was 18 and paid for my own driving lessons and bought my own car. I have never been fined in my life. My mum has never driven a car and my dad was unable to teach me to drive due to health reasons.

I am 16 and I am getting ready to get my permit. I will have to wait to be 18 to get my license to be on the safe side. By the way you have good parents who care about you.
