I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. It's always possible to have twins. I'm the mother of identical twin girls and here are a few facts about your chances:

1. Identical twins are from one fertilized egg that splits. Every pregnancy has a 1 in 250 chance of resulting in identical twins. It's a "random" thing that just happens. This is not impacted by maternal age, fertility drugs, ethnicity, or family history.

2. Fraternal twins occur when the female produces two eggs and both are fertilized.

3. There are a number of factors that increase your chances of having fraternal twins. They are more common in African Americans (less common in Asians and Hispanic). The older you are the greater your chance of having twins - women over the age of 45 have a 17% chance of twins. Fertility drugs taken by the female can induce hyperovulation and result in two eggs being fertilized.

4. Family history is only relevent on the female's side. (The male can't make the female produce two eggs.)

Were your twins fraternal? If so, then you have a very good chance of having twins again. If they were identical then you have the same 1 in 250 chance this time.

Hope this helps!

Yes, any pregnancy could potentially be twins. Fraternal twins are caused by fertilization of 2 eggs, but identical twins are caused by having 1 fertilized egg that splits in half.

(2 babies might reason an atypical consequence, when you consider that they're searching for tiers linked with ONE toddler.) in case you have already had the alpha fetoprotein attempt and it got here returned commonplace, twins are actually not likely. in case you haven't any longer, then that's nevertheless extremely possible. the two way, superb desires!
