help with steam please!?

i just installed half life 2 and it says that steam is having trouble connecting to steam servers. what should i do cause when i click troubleshooting and run the test it doesnt come up and nothing happens or is anyone else having the same problems? PLEASE ANSWER ASAP GREATLY APPRECIATED THANX

Is your internet working? Unplug your router for a minute, then plug it in again. Re install Half-Life2 if that doesn't work.
