The Spanish climate is moderate all year like the middle states of the United States. The best times to go are in May, June, and September, in the north. In the southern part of the country the best times are April and October. In these months you can rely on good weather and avoid radically high heat. Winter along the southern Mediterranean is mild most of the year. The two Spanish isles and the two Spanish cities in northern Morocco have about the same climate as Spain's southern coast, Mediterranean; long dry summers and short mild winters.

Yes, Spain does have a winter but it is a big country so temperatures vary. The Costa del Sol, where I am, is generally between 13 and 18 degrees through the winter. The worst part of the weather at that time of the year is not so much the temperature but the rains. These can be prolonged and torrential, they have to make up for the 3-4 months with none in the summer.

Barcelona in March ranges from around 12 to 17 degrees.

Of course Spain has the same four seasons as any other country... And like most countries with different topographies, each area varies...You have snowy ski resorts in the Pyrenees, Navacerrada near Madrid and Sierra Nevada in Granada.
The northwestern area of Spain has the wettest climate, in Galicia you can find a drizzle or a quick shower, even on a sunny july day.
The area of Castilla has fairly dry, cold winters, with a rather bleak landscape.
The mediterranean climate is quite mild and comfortable, this goes all the way from the french-spanish border in Catalonia north of Barcelona, to Gibraltar in Andalucia.
In Barcelona march you might find a sunny spring day, or a stormy, rainy one, it all depends on your luck....
We've had a drought for several years, but this autumn it seems to be ending, as we are finally getting some blessed and long needed rain.

I agree with Nanny Abuela. However, there was a snowstorm (snow lasting 2 days) in the Barcelona area in March about 10 years ago. It depends on the year, and this year is unseasonally warm, but that can always change. Weather is like that, you know. You can always expect snow in the mountainous areas during winter.

Yes, it has winter. And very cold in some parts!! The worst months are December and January.
In March weather is usually mild (spring time) but it could easily rain.
