There was a series named Secret Wars in which all of the superheroes where taken into another planet to fight (as Marvel creative talents where adjusting some gaps in their current storytelling), in the series, some mayor changes happened, like spiderman getting his new suit (that later turned out to be the evil symbiotic creature that gives life to Venom in the body of Eddie Brock- now this is what comes for spiderman in the movies!). There was a man who is the strongest character in the marvel universe... it was the Beyonder.

Else, I do think the holder of the infinity gauntlet is also stronger than galactus..

By the way.. that was another GREAT series from Marvel comics Inc.

Galactus has threatened to destroy the Earth on several occasions. On the first, the Fantastic Four (aided by the Watcher Uatu and by Galactus' rebellious herald, the Silver Surfer) defeated him by threatening him with the Ultimate Nullifier. Galactus vowed to never again try to harm the Earth.

Nevertheless, he has returned on several occasions, in one instance weakened enough for the Fantastic Four, the Avengers and Doctor Strange to defeat him. Rather than watch him die of hunger, Mister Fantastic saved him, for which he later went on galactic trial.

In the Galactus: The Devourer limited series (1999-2000), Galactus — starving to death due to his addiction to the life forces of living beings which offer him no sustenance — was seemingly killed after a battle against the united forces of the Silver Surfer, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Starjammers, the Shi'ar Empire and an armada of other united planets (including even a Kree starship) when his own Elemental Converter was turned against him. He died with an ominous warning that his death would allow a great evil to surface. After his death, Galactus' true form was revealed, that of a sentient star.

The Beyonder
The Molecule Man
The High Evolutionary
Doctor Doom (after draining the Beyonder of power)
The Fantastic Four
The Celestials
The list goes on and on - while Galactus is a power in his own right, there are many others out there in the Marvel Universe that are just as strong if not more so....

One-Above-All ( yes, thats "his name")

One-Above-All isn’t just the most powerful being in the Marvel Universe, but the most powerful being in the entire multiverse. One-Above-All is the being that gives Living Tribunal his marching orders. One-Above-All is apparently the being that created the multiverse in the first place, and has essentially been used a stand in for the real world creators of the Marvel Universe, even appearing in a comic book in the form of Jack Kirby. If the Marvel Universe has a being that can be considered a capital-g God, One-Above-All is it, and Galactus has nothing on that.

This says it all... http://comicbook.com/2014/09/21/stan-lee-thinks-galactus-is-the-most-powerful-being-in-the-marve/
