I can only apply this to other situations as I know only enough about football to get by.... and I am not into it..BUT the concept and your point is very well taken by me as ther is the application of many other things that i can say thqt "I" know about and other have pretended to know about.....check this out: I( was at dinner with soe peope, and they actually were so boring that i MUST have looked like i wanted to be OUT of there, someone saidd what is wrong. My reply was..."It's ok.... I am ovulating...." and all fo the men said "OH yeah I have heard of that...wow that is really tough I have to hand it to ythere....you're a tough cookie" I nearly spit my drink out laughing. Should I have drawn them a diagram of fallopian tubes? should i have dropped my pants and give them a 'play by play' (*wink*) right on the spot for their ignorance? I mean when i don't know something, i know it will bite me in the butt if i pretend to know about it. I mean i cannot pretend to be a poet laureate, or a brainsurgeon.....I don't have enough data to bullshit my way thrugh it....but yes, i kow what you mean.,...I cannot say that it makes me mad, but it DOES expose them as fakes. I applaud your passion for the sport..i HAVE learned some about it from being married and asking and watching it....but i do not watch it. I DID tho get very into basket ball and can talk abutthat and i know what you mean.... in essence youhave a very valid point and i think you handled it very well.
Thanks...
Lioncourt

Yes I do and I'm not afraid to call them on it. I would slip in a trick question or start asking a million of them and if they cant anwser or get most of them wrong, I simply tell them to shut it because they dont know what they are talking about and its wasting my time listening to their patetic attempts to be cool. Good luck with yoru situation!

It is annoying. I love football, but I don't claim to know the in's and out's of the game either. One day I will but I'm still learning.

Yes and I told that person that...they were like "I know"
it's annoying but you need to deal with it because you will ALWAYS run into someone that acts that way

My best friend's husband does that all the time! Thinks he knows everything there is to know about everything there is to know...and the more wrong he is, the more adament he is in his point of view! Makes me wish I could stab him in the eye with a pen!!! lol

Yes ..I hate that...I hate even more when someone thinks they know it all...and even if they might..or do...they can't help advertising that to everyone..that's even worse I think..and pretty cocky too. Cocky in general I'm not liking.

I hate that of course.
I did that to people when I was a kid. And I hate myself for that.
But since not doing things like that anymore. I love MYSELF now.
