As a mother of five, I feel he should help the 8 1/2 year old pick out suitable attire. Maybe he could pick out two outfits and let the child choose from those. The child needs some form of self expression and this is how he can teach that. As far as physically dressing thew child, no. My five years old can dress himself. These are some of the lessons that are important in life. I belive that we as parents should not be raising kids, but rather productive adults who can function in our society.

The child is old enough to dress themselves but sometimes they need help with what matches with what. Mine did so I would set her clothes out for the day and she would dress herself. She was 10 when she started picking out her own clothes to wear. Luckily she has great taste in clothes...just like her MaMa. LOL *wink*

I don't know, I don't because she old enough to do it themselves and because of the modern day paedophile thing. But 99% of guys get nothing out of seeing there 9 years old naked. They are your children for christ sake, They have not developed to that point in live where thier body changes. Now that is a different story.

There is nothing wrong particularly if the child is having challenges dressing up. He should be encouraged however to show the child how to dress up on their own. I have my seven year old who dresses himself but when he si stuck he is like "can someone fix my pants please"

Your question isn't clear to me. Is he literally dressing his child? What is the child's sex? Do you mean that he picks out clothing for the child? That's a big difference from what you asked. Which is it?

He probably takes pride in the way his son looks. You should to. The child will come to an age where its no longer cool for dad to dress him, then hell be on his own. :)
