This may sound nasty but with my kids I was always too scared to clip them, so I would nibble them off or get my Mom to clip them for me!

First of all get baby clippers-adult ones will cut her fingers. It was easiest for me to do it while my son was asleep-then he was not moving his hands around.Pull her skin back from the nail and then cut the nail-I have slipped a few times and accidentally cut my son's fingers which made me feel horrible. But try it when she is sleeping!

Best thing to use is the baby finger nail clippers, they are nice and small, and real sharp.Don't cut below the white of the nail, or you could cause bleeding. I used to do my daughter's when she was sleeping so she wouldn't jerk or anything. Good Luck

I would always waite until she was a sleep and cut them with baby nail clippers. She was still and I didn't cut her and I was relaxed. Leave a little bit of white nail because if you cut to short it hurts and she will be cranky and you won't know why.

you will find nail cutting scissors in the market. buy 1 & while baby is asleep u can cut her nails. it is safe as it does not cause injury as a nail cutter would do. i still cut my 2 daughters nails with it.not only that i cut my nails too. it gives nail a good shape .

I found that the best time to cut my baby's nails was when she was sleeping or really relaxed. Sometimes I just had to suck it up and realize that she wasn't going to die because she was mad at me for cutting her nails. It only takes a minute and if your kid is anything like mine, their attention will be somewhere else in no time.

1) Best to it do when she's asleep.
2) Get some baby powder (or equivalent) under her nails. The part that can be clipped will be more visible because of the white powder trapped under it, so there will be less risk of clipping too far.
3) Use the baby-sized clippers, not adult-sized.

I agree with everyone else, do it when she is ASLEEP!!! My son is so difficult when he's awake, he recently had eye surgery, I actually brought his little nail clippers with me and while he was crashed out in the recovery room I jumped on the chance and clipped each of those twenty little razor sharp nails!!

You're best to do it while she's sleeping. Take a nail file and file them down...I suppose you can use nail clippers, but that always scares me with my sons. I don't want to cut him.

I just do it when my son is really tired, or occupied with something else. Try it while she is asleep, or while someone is making faces at her. Just use a little nail clipper and go for it!
I also just chewed his at first, but I found the clippers to be easier.

I used to "operate" on finger nails when the babies were sound asleep. As they got older, I would "operate" on splinters the same way. Otherwise they wouldn't let me come near them with clippers or tweezers. My kids laugh about the night "operations" now that they're older.
