Yes it does. And the blue Ray holds around 50 gigs per disk. Interesting comparison story about PS3 and Wii ink below.

Yes.

Although technically speaking it isn't the new DVD. It's a completely different format. HD-DVD is the new DVD but I don't think that will do well as there are only a few companies that are supporting that. Blu-ray won't take off for a while as most people still own regular resolution TVs, and therefor won't benefit from Blu-ray.

Of course it does ... that's why Sony is pushing the Playstation3. It's trying to push the Blue-ray into the market for it's DVD players and using the Playstation as it's launching pad.

Yes it does. It is one of the cheapest blu ray players on the market.By cheapest i mean less expensive.But dont count on blu ray being the industry standard just yet.
