The best way to tell if you are fertile is to chart your fertile quality cervical fluid and temperature for a month or two. Around the middle of your cycle, you should get some egg white like discharge when you wipe. This is fertile cervical fluid. If you are also taking your temperature each morning at the same time before getting out of bed, you will see peaks and valleys happen around ovulation (same time as the egg white) and before your period begins. For more on this read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". It's not just for women who want to get pregnant. It talks about all aspects of a woman's cycle, including birth control and PMS.

The pill doesn't affect your fertility, don't worry. As for why you didn't become pregnant when you missed pills, that just comes down to luck. You won't become pregnant every single time you have sex. As for how you know whether or not you're fertile, when you do decide to have kids, if you end up trying for over a year without success, you're able to see a fertility specialist about any possible problems.

I wouldn't worry about this too much. It might take a couple of months after you get off the pill for your hormones to balance back out to normal, but it shouldn't keep you from getting pregnant at all. My wife was on the pill for four years before we decided to start trying, and we got pregnant the first month that we tried!

I know people that have been on birth control pills for 20 years and still got pregnant when they wanted to.

I was on the depo shot for 3 years and once i stopped taking it i became pregnant a year later.

Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating.

Go to the doctor my dear and try to keep yourself organize by doing self checks. no offense.

Excuse me my dear but I have to make a come back on some smart people who think they are being smart.

If you people were wise, you would notice I ask is it possible to get pregnant right after your period. I didn't ask for your comments on whether or not I was pregnant. Lets not mislead the people who really need the help! Lets be wise about it, adults!!

Thanks baby girl! hoped my answer could help you. Your in my prayers!

I was on the depo shot for 2 years and I got pregnant on the first try so I don't believe it effects your ability to have a child.

heck no. it doesn't matter how long you are on it, I wason birth control for 5 years, and I now have a kid..its not gonna ruin anything. That's not what birth control does. Calm down, everything will be fine when the time is right for you.
