Appearance is the immediate lure, but that does not necessarily mean striking beauty. In fact, striking beauty can be a detractor if it is intimidating. A girl with cool hair, eyes, figure or clothes can be really attractive..
Step 2, when we talk to her, it starts an immediate evaluation. The dumb blonde type, or just squirrley personality tends to turn off. Dark personality can be a turnoff. Usually a normal, confident girl is attractive.
Other factors play into this over time. Similar background, money siuation, tastes, values tend to make people closer or drive them apart.
You'll know when it happens...but don't force it.

I'm not a guy. But appearence and personality play a huge part. So does how you speak, manners, not to much perfume, what you think of yourself and modesty.

Personality doesn't matter now-a-daze, it's all looks. Sad, but true.
