In Seattle I would say the Space Needle, Pikes Market, the waterfront. If you have children, the Pacific Science Center is a great place to go.

We went to Port Townsend this summer and did a whale watching trip. It took us to the San Juan Islands with a stop at Friday Harbour.

Farther south you have the Nortwest Trek, Mt. Rainier.

Well, In the Seattle area, there is the Space Needle, the monorail, the new library the underground city tour, the aquarium, the Seattle zoo the ferry system, tons of plays movies and shows to go to. There is also the Seahawks and the Sonics, and in the summer, the Mariners.

Tacoma has Point Defiance park, the new Narrows bridge is being built, There is always something going on at the Tacoma Dome. There are casinos all over the place...etc

Hope that helps. Have a good time.

Up towards northern Washington on the coast is a set of islands close to Canada called the Orcas islands. They are a kind of cool place to visit with interesting bed and breakfasts and good sightseeing amongst various other things to do there.

A great wildlife park 20miles out of Seattle is the Northwest Wildlife Trek which is 700 acres saved for animals and they offer a nice tram ride which lasts an hour through a part of the park showing animals in their natural habitats. Didn't know if you were into the zoo thing.

Also, there are various forms of city passes to see multiple attractions for a great low price.

I would say that Mt St. Helens would top the list.
In Seattle, go to the Seattle Center: The Space Needle, The Experience Music Project, The Pacific Science Center...and right now Winterfest is about to begin with art displays, Ice Skating, the Ballet........

I would first pick Mt. St. Helens followed by Mt. Raineer. Then Olympic National Park. In Seattle I'd pick the space needle and don't miss the Pike Market. Grand Coulee dam is no slouch.

The popular Christmas lighting festival in Leavenworth, Washington is an ideal place and time for a beautiful outdoor walk in the snow! I highly recommend it.
Remember to dress warm and don't forget to bring your camera!
