Can any one tell me why it is rated R...it is really vulgur/ inappropriate/etc...?
Nudity, language, etc?

This movie is rated R for profanity. There is no nudity. This movie was made before the PG-13 rating was introduced. Nowadays this movie would get a PG-13 rating.

It does have some language, as well as sexual and drug references. It is however a very funny movie!
