dont feed feeder goldfish as a staple diet they are fatty and will prematurely kill your caimen. what type of caimen do you have and do you realise how big these will get if you have a true dwarf (there is only one, people sell smooth front and spectacles as "dwarf" spectacles will still get 8 feet) wedge heads are the true dwarf species only getting 3.5 to 4.5 feet. they grow rather fast and will require a buttload of room. feed him crickets for excersise, get online and get lobster or hisser cockroaches-- these are great, for a staple diet i have found a mixture of eggs-ground turkey-tuna-salmon-and crab and shrimp have worked very well. caimens do not truly tame down like alot of people would like to think i have seen quite a few tolerate handling but you still have to be on the defensive there bites are very painfull. if you feed any type of mammal i.e-mice rats, try to feed frozen/thawed so they dont get used to chasing there food. also these are nocturnal hunters so feed the mixture at night and just take any uneaten food out in the morning. plan on handling this guy alot and dont be scared of getting bit i promise it will happen sooner or later rather be sooner while hes small and not big.

I answered you above too...the feeder fish yes...frozen fish are not a good idea, at least on a daily basis. Mice, rats, insects, crayfish, etc. A variety of live food really. As Caimen can be picky when young, you need to just experiment and find out what they like. I hope you are prepared to house and care for these guys when they get 6 to 8 feet long?!?

Fish are opportunistic. If it particularly is there and able to be eaten, they'll extra suitable than in all threat consume them. That being reported, putting them jointly and not which ability to feed the goldfish could be undesirable as goldfish are carp and subsequently no longer piscivores (fish eaters). even although some guppies could no longer be terrible for their heath, it is not on their general menu and ought to reason detrimental wellbeing outcomes- distinctly whilst they guppies are wild caught and ought to hold illnesses.
