Everyone has already explained the cons of owning an exotic pet, so I will skip that part and get right to the suggestions. Keep in mind, I have no earthly idea what "emo" is supposed to mean, but I do know about pets.
Rat: get a female, and get her from a good pet store, not from out in the field/alley. Rats have lots of personality, they can be trained, and they like being social with humans. Just make sure you get a book explaining their care and diet, and DON'T feed her anything she should not have (like raw meat).
Cat: don't dismiss this. Cats are intelligent, complicated creatures. I believe someone once said, "Cats are so that man may pet the tiger." The cat is not your "pet," s/he is your equal, and you will have to earn its respect. If appearances matter, you can find a variety of colors among the domestic short-hair, and there are even some more exotic-looking breeds, like the Maine Coone and the Siamese. Plus, they don't require nearly as much constant attention as dogs. Just remember to spay or neuter, so that they'll live healthier lives and you won't have to worry about kittens or cat pee all over your house. Some pet adoption agencies even offer vouchers to have that type of surgery done for a lower price.
Betta (a.k.a. Japanese fighting fish): these are beautiful, they are low maintenance, they don't need a big tank with a water filter, they can actually take oxygen from the AIR, and if you get two of them, you can put their fish bowls next to each other and watch them get riled up and try to intimidate each other through the glass. (Or just get one, and put a mirror next to his bowl once in a while for the same effect.)
Exotic animals are very nice to look at, but they are expensive to buy, expensive to house and feed, and can have very high veterinary bills. You do not want to find yourself having a beautiful wild animal put down because you're in a financial bind and can't afford a surgical procedure, or because there isn't a veterinarian near you who can treat an exotic pet.

If I could pick any exotic animal in the world and have the resources to care for it, I think I'd pick some sort of African animal or a wolf. In real life, lizards sound the best, at least they are easier to care for then a wolf... If you just want something to take care of, try a fish also. There easy to care for and can look quite interesting.

Maybe you got out of the wrong foot here...
if you were really "EMO" then u wouldn't be taking care of an exotic pet like a WOLF. If you were like that you'd be more of a "NATURE" kind of person.. (=

NO - do not get a wolf! I have known people with them and they are dangerous animals. They are not cute and cuddly like a dog - at all! If you want something exotic, go for a non-poisonous snake or lizard of some kind. Heck, there are even really cool tropical fish! Or just get a dog of a lesser known breed.

You know there are many people who think like you and the problems really begin when people try to become Doctor Doolittle or something. Here's why, Wild animals are just that Wild Animals! They soon become unmanageable and people get hurt or killed. The one that suffers unjustly is the animal how is often put down or abused beyond repair. I all respect please stick with pets from a Pet store that you can handle and not destroy. Besides Game Keeper Licences are very hard to get and the requirements are higher education so stay in school then you will soon understand what I said.

If you like exotics, you might want to volunteer to work at a zoo's nursery or learn to work rehab for wildlife. You'd get to care for all kinds of interesting critters but without taking them from the wild and trying to make them a house pet. You wouldn't tire of the animal like you might when the novelty wears off, especially once you've had to deal with unwanted habits you can't control some of which can be dangerous.

I don't think that you're allowed to own a wolf. Why not get a regular type of pet? And if you want something exotic, try getting something unique like a lizzard or snake.

Don't get an exotic pet. These are wild animals and belong in their natural habitat. Go to an animal shelter and adopt a dog or a cat. Then you got a friend for life.

a wolf is not a cool pet.. in fact its not a pet at all.. its a wild animal which unfortunately some people want to have as pets to make themself feel cool.. or gain importance.. its the equivalent of a guy who is old fat and bald wanting a fast sports car.... its a way of getting attention
a wolf is not a pet.. it is a living creature who deserves to be free.. domestic dogs were bred from wolves thousands of years ago.. if you want a REALLY cool pet - adopt a homeless dog from a shelter.. or cat...

if you are an EMO then i dont think that owning a pet is a good thing for you to do.
are you sure you are ready to be a full time carer to an animal who NEEDs alot of love, attention and affection?
if you really want a pet, why dont you try something low maintenance, like a fish?
