Both are cowards.

Bush was in the Texas "Champagne Squadron" eventually went AWOL but had enough political pull and $$ to destroy the paper trail, part of this involved getting a retired clerk to testify that she never received the IBM Selectric II typewriter that she signed for...
Not surprising for the grandson of a Nazi booster.

Seeing Bush drinking with the communist leaders in Hanoi reminded me of Jane Fonda posing there and betraying U.S. prisoners who had slipped her a note. First Hanoi Jane, now Hanoi George. Soul mates.

Clinton avoided military service .

Neither man should ever have been president of the U.S., but we really haven't had a good president since Truman.

Now with Bush in Hanoi, with a fecalphogenous grin as he sips champagne with the communists, all I can think of is how much Hanoi George resembles Hanoi Jane.

"In May 1968, at the height of the ongoing Vietnam War, Bush was accepted into the Texas Air National Guard. After training, he was assigned to duty in Houston, flying Convair F-102s out of Ellington Air Force Base.[9] Throughout his political career, Bush has been criticized over his induction and period of service. Critics allege that Bush was favorably treated due to his father's political standing, and that he was irregular in attendance. Bush took a transfer to the Alabama Air National Guard in 1972 to work on a Republican senate campaign, and in 1974 he obtained permission to end his six-year service obligation six months early to attend Harvard Business School, receiving an honorable discharge."

As for President Clinton, he was drafted. He opposed the war and did not end up going to Vietnam.

A quick Google search for "clinton vietnam" will bring up several interesting articles on the subject.

Cheers,
Josh

Don't know about Bush but Clinton was suppose to and ditched it, COWARD! He went to Washington DC and protected. While all these others had to go , he ran. I think if their suppose to go over and ditch it they shouldn't be allowed to run for President. Who are they to send others if they chickened out themselves. Plus even if they don't send others over to fight then their over the military forces as President and they have no right to run the military if they ran from the call of duty.

Bush --- Joined the Guard with help from influential people. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/campaigns/wh2000/stories/bush072899.htm

Neither method was unusual for the times.

They do not want to be killed in action so that they could run as Presidents and they won. They could have not been Presidents if they were returned to US inside body bags.
