I'm going to be in a production this upcoming semester, it's a musical and the roles call for dancing which is not my strong point. I am not too too out of shape when it comes to less....flamboyant activities such tae kwon do, and soccer. I was just wondering if anyone here could offer some tips which could help me physically prepare for the role. I got some weights and a treadmill downstairs which i am willing to get some mileage out of if need be.

That and also some running will help too. Just go jogging/running for half an hour every day. It will build your resistance and help you get in shape and stay in shape. Swimming would help too. And, depending on the type of dancing you'll be doing, you might want to do some stretches too. You just need to decide how intense you need your workout to be and you can do that by deciding on how strenuous your dance is going to be. If you'll do a lot of footwork (like in tap dancing) you'll need to work out your feet and legs more and if you'll do stuff like modern dance that you'll need to learn how to move your arms and upper body. Assess your situation and than plan accordingly. Good luck!
