what kind of democracy is it when u have 2 choices for who you want in office, a democrat or a republican. When will the younger generation start an independent movement thats for the people not for the good of a single party? What is the appeal with voting democrat and republican? arent they short sited attempts at solving are problems? I want a free independent thinker in office who arent limited by the scope of a party.

Money talks. As soon as your "younger generation" raises about five billion dollars, they can launch their Independent Party into mainstream politics, but hey, wait a minute, raising that much cash would require pandering to special interest groups, so would they REALLY be independent???

People vote Democrat or Republican because those are the only choices. Ross Perot proved that when he split the vote and helped elect Clinton. How about real term limitations for everyone in office so there must be new blood cycled into the system from time to time?

If you look at all the candidates you'll find a wide range of thinking among both parties. You'll see those that follow the party lines and those that have their own agenda's.

that's why it's so important to vote in the initial process to see who get's their respective party nomination.

There are other parties. They don't have enough support to have any influence. Independents can & do run. Party label or lack thereof isn't a qualification.

Organize a new party and register it so that it can dislodge the Republicans and Democrats.

My husband and I are both registered as independents. The way it is now you just have to pick the best of the worst.

What needs to happen is Republicans start behaving like conservatives.

It worked in 1980 President Reagan and 1994 Newt and the gang.

WHEN REPUBLICANS RUN AS CONSERVATIVES IN NATIONAL ELECTIONS, THEY WIN LANDSLIDE ELECTIONS.
