The wine and DVD are good but here's a few more ideas...
...Traditional nuts in their shells with a nice nut cracker
... Ingredients for making something out of pumpkin
... Festive fall decorations or fall scented candles
... Pumpkin baked items like bread or muffins
You could even have a theme for a romantic evening by choosing a good yummy/decadent fall food item to go with the wine. The candle and DVD would set the mood.

give your basket a theme.
garden theme - small hand shovel and pick. some seed packets. gardening gloves. a how-to book/reference book. etc.
spa basket - add bath salts. body wash. a loufa sponge. a couple of face towels. etc.
a wine basket - add some nice wine. a couple of differenc cheeses. some crackers. and a spreading knife. etc.
the most important thing is presentation. make sure eveything looks nice together.
