Actually, the question of oil was just a small part of the equation. The real winners were the weapons industry with the oil industry put in as dessert. Don't you realize that the billions of dollars being made during this are going to corporations that could care less about the eventual outcome as long as it is not a nuclear outcome. In any case, oil is only a small part because the weapons are the main ingredients in this war. Even the supplies for the soldiers are manipulated by some corporation that makes a lot of money for the industry but not enough to supply the soldiers with the products they need.

Its no longer that he did no longer prefer to. in reality from his own lips got here the justification that once the war, Iraq might pay for the USA freeing Iraq with their oil sales. I remember him asserting precisely that. So it would land up costing u.s. no longer something financially. of direction that wasn't pondering the fee of the protection stress manpower lost which of direction is helpful. Oh, how quickly we overlook. That Bush! What a guy!

Do you REALLY think Saddam Hussein would have sold Bush oil if he asked for it? Hussein would have laughed his head off.
Besides, Bush wanted to punish Hussein, and by taking his oil by force, that is was he's doing.
Stop and think about it: George has not been able to get his fingers on Iraq's oil yet due to the civil wars and insurgent violence. The country is not progressing. Donald Rumsfeld even said that the Iraqi's are going to pay for reconstruction with their oil. Bush does not want to leave Iraq until he's been paid in oil, thus finding the pot of gold that his Daddy was never able to get.

It's not that black and white simple. It is about who controls the tap. As Americans we have supported ruthless tyrants so that we can have an uninterrupted flow of the go juice at the best prices.
The whole setup is rife with corruption. We just cruise down the highway not giving an (expletive) about the life of the average person in the Middle East. We appear as hypocrites because of our support for tyrants while we espouse the virtues of liberty.

Because the neocons thought we would be "greeted as liberators". They thought they didn't need several hundred thousand troops. They didn't think there would be a sustainable insurgency.
Just because someone has a lousy plan, doesn't mean they don't have a plan. They're vision was a US friendly government, with permanent bases and massive US influence. They were naive, ill-prepared and incompetent, but don't pretend for a minute that they weren't greedy as well.....

Don't expect rational answers from those culled for holding an irrational opinion. The war was never about oil.

The truth is that liberals cannot believe there is any noble reason for going to war.
They would like us to waltze into Darfur, getting shot up in the process, and deliver food.
They would like us to offer alms to the Islamofascists who want to kill us because we are Americans.
They are willing to appease terrorism, even if it means sacrificing our ally, another democracy, Israel.
Thank God liberalism hasn't quite got this country strangled. Yet.

I love this question, for many reasons,
1) Michael moore said such, so libs believe, yet moore owns 2000 shares in halliburton....hmmm
2) it is the libs fault if such is true because they would not allow us to drill in Alaska....hahaha
3) People who actually think such have already lost it
