I am not gay at work, I am professional at work. In my business relations, it simply doesn't become a matter of conversation since my profession is not sexual in nature. As far as my co-workers are concerned, I do not hide anything but also do not announce everything. Everybody that I have worked with has known that I am gay because they either asked me or brought up a subject where I would tell them. If they mentioned their girlfriends or boyfriends, I mentioned mine. I do not hide who I am since I am not embarrassed by any aspect of who I am, but I also do not feel an overwhelming need to tell everyone about my personal life.

Everyone I work with knows I'm gay, if that's what you mean, and a lot of regular customers do too. It doesn't affect how I do my job, though! How could it?
In the UK it is now illegal to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation (at last!), so in theory at least it can't affect my job prospects. I've never encountered any problems though, even before that.

Yes I am totally out at work, always have been, always will be. That's not to say that someone who is closeted at work is wrong (for example my partner is out to some people at work, and not to others...in his industry--management in a blue collar industry--it just makes more sense), but in my experience it just makes things easier. All that changing pronouns or pretending not to have a personal life is just maddening to me so I'm out. If I ever ended up working for a company where it was a problem I'd be looking for a new job, fast. That said, it's only a tiny sliver of my work persona.
Does it affect how I do my job? Yes, I certainly like to think that because I am gay I do my job with more style and panache than my heterosexual co-workers. ;-)

I'm gay, period. That'd mean I'm gay at work, at home...wherever I am. If you meant to ask ..are you OUT at work...then the answer would be yes. To those that care to ask, I tell them. Does it affect my job performance? How would anyone's sexual orientation affect how they do their job? The answer is NO.
Was there a purpose to this question?

While in a professional setting [a work place] you should keep your personal life and your professional work separated whether you be straight, gay, bi whatever. who cares? a person is a person and an individual. Just keep in mind that usually in a business your clients are paying for a service, not an autobiography of your personal life.
