i think marijuana should be legal. i wonder how many of you in your 20's or 30's would consider voting to legalize it. Seems like things stay conservative because Our generation still listens to our parents, especially the ones who are actually doing the voting. But if you really had to think about it, wouldnt legalizing drugs end a lot of violence and actually save us tax dollars. Is my generation with me or do you all still think marijuana will turn people crazy and starting riots in the street like what they reported when they made it illegal for the 1st time.

Marijuana smoking should be legalised everywhere.
It is a simple natural herb, which provides pleasure and relaxation, and has many beneficial medicinal properties. It relieves stress, reduces pain, and certain studies show that it can disipate asthma, and be beneficial to alzheimer's patients.
The reason it was made illegal in the first place was because the oil from the seeds can be used to fuel an engine, and so the oil lobby, along with the media who were making profits from cutting down trees, found a way to make it illegal. The law was passed as a part of the tax law, which introduced the name marijuana, so that nobody would realise that they were restricting the use of hemp.

I think that it is only a matter of time until it is legalized and taxed. This is a wedge issue, its about tax revenue, its not a R or D thing. As more money is lost to people who no longer smoke, they will need to replace this tax income. This is the next thing. Once it can be made by companies only and not home grown, you will see it will be legal. It was the drug companies that lobby to keep it from being legal. They want you to buy their drugs to feel better. Not go outside, pick a bud off your plant and feel better, there is no money in it for them if you do that. Think about it. Drinking is much more of a danger to people than smoking weed. But that is a great tax and it stays. Smoking is outlawed almost everywhere but you can buy a pack almost anywhere. Weed can be grown everywhere and can not be tracked that easy, so right now they make more money keeping it outlawed. I am all for it. Legalize it and tax the hell out of it. Like $20 a pack of really good stuff. But then, wouldn't you just grow your own for free? It's not like that many people grow their own tobacco or brew there own beer.

ABSOLUTELY should be legal. ALCHOOL is more dangerous than maruijana, damaging the liver . If it is used not all the time, not while driving, why not? Also it is helpful for many cancer patient. I had a friend who suffered from cancer and the only way he could eat was if he smoked mariujana , I think used in moderation and also used by those who really need it it is totally fine. The alchool industry is involved in not making it legal as they would lose a lot of business.

I also would like to add, in HOLLAND WHERE THE USE OF MARUIJANA IS LEGAL , PEOPLE USE IT LESS THAN IN THE STATES. WHAT ABOUT THAT?

Society will eventually evolve enough that the good greens will be decriminalized. I've been smoking for almost 15 years and have been around it my entire life. I'm 34.

It is THE best remedy for my
1) severe menstrual cramps (personal but true)
2) occasional anxiety
3) nausea from hormone pills

I don't smoke it but think it should be legal. I've done alot of research on it & it is really not illigal in most countrys as our goverment would have people believe. It is Illigal to bring it or ship it here though. All over asia it grows wild. The only ones that smoke it are the poor people who can't afford tobacco & U.S. citisen there on vacation :) It grows wild all over south america also & would in north america if the authoritie's would not destroy it.

well I don't smoke it but I would have it legalized it's safer than drinking or smoking cigerettes it's never been known to kill. So...I don't see the problem the only reason I know it would never happen is that the government can't make money off of it like they can cigerettes because people would continue to grow and sell it themselves. They wouldn't be able to tax it.

Against. I'm 26 years old, and have had expierience with your drugs. Both personally, and seeing friends screw up what was a pefectly good lives full of potential.Maybe thats why I take a stance against it....And shaped my personal and political beliefs accordingly. Kids are going to be kids......we all make mistakes, and the good ones grow up, get past the adolescent angst, and move on to much bigger and better things. If everyone that did drugs heavily in the 60's where still doing it, we would be in a MAJOR world of hurt.

Sure Legalize it and all types of drugs that way all of the deaths that will occur will thin out the population and leave more room for me. If the deaths from alcohol are any indicator then it shouldn't take long

You hit the nail on head, alcohol has ruined more lives and killed more people than pot ever would, but our one side of the street government doesnt realize that.Sell quality hemp in packs like ciggarettes (just like buying a fifth of whisky at the party store )and im not gonna kill somebody driving home because pot doesnt make you have double vision like alcohol does.or make tempers flare. so i hear ya brother and maybe someday in our lifetime it will happen.
