No. As already posted, it is a city onto itself. It is too far from Denver to be a suburb. If you are interested in finding out a lot more about Colorado Springs, I suggest going to the City/Data Forum (at the bottom of the page) on this link: http://www.city-data.com/
There is a whole section just on Colorado Springs -- it is not a tourist site, but rather a board where people who live in the Springs, or want to know more specific information than one would get from a tourist or city site can ask questions of "real" people (like here) and get answers. It would be a great way to ask others about it, and to get answers on a consistent basis, and to see what other people have to say.
It's a beautiful city and if you go there, visit the Garden of the Gods -- a beautiful hiking area with red rocks and gorgeous views of the mountains!
But again, if you want to know personal opinions and specific details about Colorado Springs, visit the City/Data Forum.

No, it's the second largest city in Colorado with a population of about 370,000. In July 2006, Money magazine ranked Colorado Springs the best place to live in the big city category, which includes cities with 300,000 or more people. I've lived here for a three years, and have gone to Denver maybe 5 times, and that's just for touristy stuff. I think "suburb" implies some sort of reliance on Denver, and I don't think there is any. Unless you want a cheap international flight.
