I have a 1995 Ford Windstar, in 2000 I had a rebuilt transmission installed for a broken piston and here we are 74,000 kms later and we need another transmission for the same thing. I E mailed Ford and asked them to help out as I don't feel that we should have to pay twice for the same thing. This van has a total of 206,000 or 123,000 mi. approx. Any suggestions?

Yes, I have seen Ford help out on repairs for loyal customers, especially if you used the dealer for all of your maintenance and repairs. I would suggest getting your dealer involved. I have seen them cover all or partial expense for vehicles long out of warranty. Good luck!

what type of warranty did you get on the transmission when you had it rebuilt or replaced ? these are things we need to know before we can determine if you should pay for something twice, and it all depends on the way you drive your car, and remeber you have a nearly 12 yearold car
