Bats often spew stuff when they fly, and it is sticky, but it is no web.

Crystalizes on the windshield at night.

NOOOOOO! Batman has to defeat his enemies with kick-*** martial arts moves and a bunch of super neat gadgets! No webby stuff like Spiderman! I know that the BatCar can spit out a sticky, weblike net at anyone who tries to break in, but not Batman!

That would look disgusting. I wouldn't want to spew webs all over the place!

Of course, then he can make himself a new web site. Ha ha.
