There is a group of young adults who supposedly hate me......these specific people went out of their way to glare at me, look at me then make it seem as if they're talking about me, come up and say mean things, stare at me, laugh, whatever. I just ignored them bc they were trying to get a rise...but isn't that too much work to exert on someone you hate? Why do they do that? Interestingly, it's people from a certain subculture...I've had people hate me before, but they usually just ignore me, which is what I do if I don't like them...is it that they are just jealous bc they say the opposite of love isn't hate which is what they're doing...it's apathy
My other friends said they did this to them too...and I really did nothing to them but be myself, I'm considered quite desirable, and most others really love my personality, but these individuals saw only the negatives of me. What gives for this type of treatment? True hate?

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately this was after highschool! Can you believe that? Also, you're right, when most of them are alone, they look really intimidated by me, but I am never disrespectful back, which I think they find surprising bc I think they want me to react. I just don't understand why they pay so much attention and spread gossip about me if they hate me so much. GROW UP! Thanks everyone!

There is an old saying that says " Keep your friends close but your enemies closer" I guess so you can watch your butt by watching them.

Sweets, it sounds like you're in high school or maybe even junior high? Kids are mean. Straight up mean. I'm sure you're a great girl, desirable, with a lovely personality. You are certainly articulate. People stare at and hate what they covet. There's something about you that's different, and notice: they group together when they do it. As if they need each other to actually "hate" you. They probably want to be like you, and if you got one of them alone you'd see they are totally defenseless without their posse. Just keep your head up...you're fine.

My guess is,the people you are talking about are a group that feel empowered by attacking others. They are not civilized and have not evolved enough through education to know how to act like humans. They are a pack of wolfs and have the mentality of such. Individually they would be powerless. You should feel sorry for them and then move on because you can not help them until they learn to help themselves. They don't hate you, they are running in pack.

First of all, forget about them..I know its not easy but when they concentrate so much on you..its usually because they are either jealous or stupid.
Don't feel bad...they hated Jesus..and made Him a center of their attention and did more to Him them just stare, say mean things or laugh at Him. They crucified Jesus after beating Him tearing His flesh open.
In grade school I wasn't very popular..skinny and stuff..I felt bad because they did the same to me.. But you learn to get on with your life and don't give them the power. Take it back!

You'd be surprised how many crazy people are interested in those they attack. It's like some "subconscious" competition you didn't even know you were in.
They say they hate you through words but their obsessive actions say otherwise. Ironic.

People who treat me like that I just have two words for them( I can't say them or else I'll get reported). Seriously, I used to take things like that personally, people whispering and staring, infact, I used to lose sleep thinking about why they chose me. Then one day I realized, It's nothing personal, people like that get off on other peoples sadness and by worring about it, that's just proving them better. Now when people do that to me I just look over, stare straight into their eyes, and grin. Then they wonder if I'm crazy, but at least they leave me alone. I think I'm a happier person for it.Good luck!!!!

true hate? no way...they just wish they did something you did or they're mad that they don't have something that you have...gotta be something like that-especially if they are teenage girls..alot are like that..some even stay that way for a long time after...sad but true-people who dont like themselves, usually take it out on people who do. F^&k them...they wont help you in any way so there is no point in wasting your time...=0)

People that need to boost their self-esteem do the kinds of things you've mentioned.
It makes them feel good about themselves. This falls over into harassing people who are different, racially, sexually, etc.
It can be hard to ignore them but it's better than trying to understand them...because there is no understanding them.

Their alternative to improve themselves is to demean others.
The don't want to improve themselves directly, so the easiest way is to find fault with others.
