From the interviews that I have heard, most of the people waiting in line are doing so to resell. They are approaching it as a business venture. Sit out a couple days and wait, spend six hundred bucks and maybe make eighteen hundred clear. Some people already have their units sold before they get them. Then there is ebay. They can pay bills, do Christmas or both.

yes, well, if Sony was only selling a few hundred of them on ebay, they probably could have sold them for more than 600 dollars, however, they can make more money by mass producing them and selling them for 600 dollars each. The only reason that they sell for so much on ebay is because the availability is depleted. Trust me, the marketers know what they're doing. You, on the otherhand, do not; if you did, you would have bought a ps3 and sold it for a 2400 dollar profit.

I personally think the Nintendo Wii is the best. It is now Virtual Reality. And the graphics are as good as a PS2. Im getting a Wii before and XBox360 or PS3. And, The Wii's price is alot cheaper too. PS3-$600, XBox360-$400, Wii-$250. The Wii's games are cheaper too, and also you can go online and play PS3 games, XBox360 games, SNES, NES, Nintendo 64, and the Wii is compatable with GameCube games. The Wii's my choice. Also, you can download updates to games even when the system is turned off! How Cool!!! Get the Wii, it's better
The PS3 is already out & the Wii is coming out TOMARROW!

Yeah, you are right about one thing. Sony could have sold it for 3000 per console and made a killing on it. I saw one auction had over 35 bids on it, and that was going for $1500. since it came out prices have went up. Some are as much as 3000 per console. Thats crazy. I heard that people were even selling their spot in line for $1500. thats not even gureenteeing their going to get one. I think hard core games just have to have it. They don't care what it costs.

Have you seen what's happening at retail stores nation wide? There were like 150 people waiting in line for like 3 or 4 days for the PS3 but when the time came to give out tickets they claimed there are only 40 PS3s available at that store. Sucks, doesn't it?

Yea it's mostly sold for $2,000 on eBay. I guess people want alot of money by buying it for $600 and selling it on eBay for $2,000 or $3,000. Some buy it to play is because they are too eager and want everything to show off or because they are going nuts. I have a gamecube and I think it is just fine no problem with it. SO yea people are just like eager to get what they want. Or because they are CRAZY!

It's my understanding that it will be difficult to get before February, because they have not been able to produce enough units to ship here in time. But I would much rather wait until February and get one for $600 than to pay $2500 or $3000 now. That's just stupid.

Sony kept a few to sell on Ebay (inside source- smart marketers do that all the time like fisher price with the Tickle me Elmo: extreme)
Yeah people just aren't that smart, like it really won't kill you (or even harm you) to play the ps2 for just one more month. Just shows you how stupid the American people are getting- pretty sad

Because I am great fan of Playstation and if I had 3000 dollars, you could bet anything that I will give that and more to have in my hands a PS3 right now right here!

Some people never grow up. They were the ones who once had to have the new Cabbage Patch dolls (remember them?), and then they had to have Pokemon junk. Now that they have credit cards, they are getting in debt to buy more expensive junk. In a couple more years, they'll be the idiots rushing out to buy overpriced junk like Porsche automobiles.
Suckers.
