to say that a woman is dressing provocatively is to say that she intends some kind of provocation simply by getting dressed in the morning. This is a whole lot of tommy-rot. This means that you are transferring your standards, opinions, and ideas onto another human being whether they wish to adopt them or not.
To say that women dress provocatively is a generalised statement which places all women and their intentions in one single category. It is disicriminating to make such a generalised statement at all.
Exactly what is it that you feel all women is provoking? Are they
provoking all men into touching them? Are they provoking all men into talking down to them? Are they provoking all men to rape them?
Your title is also discriminating towards all men. This statement presumes that men are no more than beasts of the field with no control over their own bodily functions, ideas, thoughts, desires, or actions.
A woman dresses for her own benefit. She wears what she feels comfortable in, what she feels beautiful in, what she likes to wear. Just as men wear what is comfortable, what they feel handsome in and what they like to wear.
Women have an innate right to be safe and to not be accosted, abused, assaulted, berated, derided or generalised about whatever they do or do not wear.
Women should be able to walk down the main street of Sydney, Paris or New York butt naked without fear of being harmed or abused.
A woman who chooses to wear clothes that are appealing or even sexy or daring is not choosing to be harmed. She is simply choosing to wear clothes that are to her liking, or that are similar to her friends clothes, or that she feels makes her more appealing to potential partners.
To say that one human being can make another break the law, break laws of reason, laws of morals, laws of ethics simply by how they dress is to lower humanity to being no more than just another animal.

I think women dress provocatively because they're looking to attract a certain type of guy that they believe would mesh with their personalities (For either the night or even the long-run). Even though they complain, they love the attention. And I also think it's a little bit of insecurity to be honest. They dress sIutty on purpose so they can get looks and calls from men because it's just a major confidence booster. I understand it completely, and it will most likely continue to happen for the rest of forever. Same thing with when Women act stupid. It's just... stupid. Male, age 17

Some women like to put there assets in the open on display.
One said, wearing a skirt is not a invitation for rape. Which is true.
But, some women do dress to entice and draw attention to.
Nothing wrong with wearing a dress. I prefer a women be in a dress rather than pants. But, when a women wear a dress were the hem is border line crotch and a couple of moves shows the color of Their thong, that is nothing but plan enticement to draw attention.
A lot of women are bringing Ben and Jerry out now days, Showing their Chabonga's, You can hide the Blouse Puppies, or you can put the Sweater Puppies on display and those stand up and stand on there own Bra Busters even though provocative, are a sight to behold Bring on the milk duds and lets party.

Clothes make a woman feel sexy, if she wants to show a little flesh then why shouldn't she. Wearing a skirt is not an invitation to rape a woman, although some men would believe that, and neither is her dressing up.
From a young age girls are encouraged to play dress up, to put on pretty dresses and play with dolls. Dressing "provocatively" is no more an extension of that.
Women have a right to wear what they want as do men.

Women dress provocatively as a power play. Women dress appropriately for success. Your appearance does affect the people around you, and you have the right to present yourself as you wish. Don't pretend you dress like a hooker because it is more comfortable and it makes you feel better about yourself. Take responsibility for how you dress, and if you choose to dress in a provocative manner, don't punish others for responding to you in a manner appropriate for how you present yourself.
Women who dress provocatively are not asking for more than they bargain for, and are not normally asking to be physically abused. But they need to know and accept responsibility for how others respond naturally to how they present themselves.

your question is either a bait question trying to stir up argument and to get others to argue for you or your question is simply poorly thought out and worded.
as a previous answerer as stated saying women dress provocatively is to say they intend to provoke. which is a way for you to provoke others into arument not debate.
you will find as you grow up and mature that to get an appropriate answer you must ask an appropriate question.

I am not sure, but being female and mother of a girl teen, I must save, they dont know what they are doing or do they?
Looking into society its shows that women are a very big weakness for men. And even if men say they have grown over the centuries and they can handle it - they cant. Look at mtv. Young men growing up in the belief that girls/women are all booty shaking and sex hungry.
Maybe its a left over from when we were still hanging in the trees. Maybe women are trying to attract the most promissing, mate. To get the best genes.
But some women are further evolved then this, and dont have to dress up sexy. They know there two different ways of dressing. You can dress so men say "look at that b.t..", or you dress so they say "see her overthere? I have to meet that lovely lady". There is a big difference in the reations of men to the clothing of women. The evolved women also look for that hidden, deep inside beauty, of a man. That#s why you see alot of women who one would call good looking with men, who one would say not so good looking. These women know that you have to look deeper into a person, to find a promissing mate. One with what it takes to survive a relationship nowadays. One who does not have the urge to spread his sperm around, like some primitive animal from prmitive times.
I am not saying its not nice to go out once in a while and to have men look at you and flirt with you, but there are different kinds of flirts and looks. There are the kinds where you see honest curiosity to meet a person and then some that say I honestly want only to sleep with you, because I have nothing better to do.
Of course, it would be nice if everybody could wear what they wanted and nobody cared. But, we can not escape reality! Men and women are not yet capable of living in a society of equal rights.
Women are also forgetting their responsiblity to society. Does it really mean you are an equal, when you shake all you got on mtv? And why do women wear hot pants and sleeve less shirts when in an arabic country? What is the statment they want to make? I am a dumm tourist, who does not respect you and your society?
Maybe we have to start bringing up our little girls, with a big dose of reallity. There are still women out there living a life of slavery with no rights. There are 13 year old girls being married of to 60 year old men. And then we have our Daddy's from our so called better educated countries, who are traveling to thailand and other countries,so they can have sex with little girls and boys. And the list goes on and on.
And if women dress and act sexy, what are they saying for themselves? I am a smart women and I want you to look in to me eyes before you look at my half naked body? How can that work?
To your question if the are asking for it? Well, how does that saying go?
Opportunity make a thief! Maybe the saying should be, Opportunity makes a rapist?? Or is that strong!?
I can only make sure I bring up my daught right. To respect other cultures and religions. To read about womens history, and about the so many tragical lives somany women are living in this minute.
And that, it is sad to say, but you have to be cautious nowadays. You really cannot trust men. I am sorry to say this but they have proved this in the past, in the present and will in the future.
Now, let me also mention that there are places where women dress up and men can hold themselves back. But the bad apples are also found amongst them.
I hope a afew of my thoughts will assist you in your debate- good luck.

They want attention. They want to feel beautiful by accenting all their best parts. They want you to stare, make comments (even provocative ones). They are also lonely and want to be loved. They get this the only way they can, by struting their wares in front of men. Most women enjoy being stared at, drooled over. Gives them confidence they can get any man they want. They are just fooling themselves, because the message they are sending is that they are looking for sex. But these women can't tell the difference. Sex does not get you love. I guess they feel if they give the man what they want (sex) the women can get the man to fall in love with them after.
