the only pice of hardware needed for this is a computer to access the internet and since you are writting this message I think we got that one covered. unless you wanted to also host said website yourself insted of paying to have it hosted else where. if your hosting it then you need a comptuer to do the hosting. but that does run in a lot of problems, such as your internet speed will varray greatly (as people vising said site will use your bandwith to download page from your comp, thus preventing you from using it for other means) also site might not be avail to everyone or may load to slow for some (if more people try to access your site then you got bandwith for)

so if your going to host it offsite then you not need any hardware.
if you really think about it all websites are is a bunch of letters and numbers sitting in a bunch of files on a comptuer some where that the browser gets and puts together in a readable form when asked to.

so if you don't want to pay anyone to write the code for your site then my best sugestion is to get a html editor such a frontpage or some other cheaper brand. or to get a bunch of books and lean how make the code yourself.

Buy a good book on HTML. You can do a lot coding the website yourself, and it's not that hard. You can code it in simple text editors like Wordpad or Notepad. I had good luck with the Sams Teach Yourself HTML and XTML in 24 Hours. You also need to rent space with a web hosting service. I use yahoo. Was not that happy with registerfly, by the way.

Your best bet is to do a hell of a lot of learning, or hire someone to do it all for you in a fraction of the time.
