I need a reality check.

Is it just me, or did the Solomons (from Thousand Oaks) come across as shallow, unimaginative, trivial, rude, unadventurous, humorless, limited, snobbish, artificial, self-centered, avaricious and effite?

Not that the Palodi family was perfect...but, I would still be interested in seeing a show of hands on this one.

Thanks for any input.

Hi, I watched the show and I was so irritated with the Solomon family for the way they treated their surrogate mother, I felt so bad for her. Shallow and rude doesn't even begin to explain the actions and behaviors of the Solomons. For all the money they had you would think they would have exhibited better manners. All they were interested in was what money could buy and how good they looked. They were absolutely the worst family I have seen on the show since it started. .

Yes I saw it tonight. The Solomons were definitely all of that. I thought it was annoying how their daughter would not stop whining and how they complained that the hotel suite (the PRESIDENTIAL suite) was to small and boring and only had two bathrooms. They weren't even open to trying anything new, they acted so prissy at the Mexican restaurant and they were extremely rude when the other woman made them sushi. Also, the woman kept criticizing the other family's "fantasy" world and saying they weren't educated. Ironically, I think she's the one that wasn't educated because all she seemed to know was shopping (yet somehow she's a research scientist) while the other family was at least open to other cultures and trying new things and having fun. I think that if you're not open to try new things then you shouldn't sign up for the show because everyone knows their going to pair you up with a family that's your complete opposite.

I think the Solomon family was completely pretensious and snobbish. Those people don't understand that when your life revolves around school, work, money and material things, YOU DONT HAVE A LIFE. Those people had no interests or hobbies, they may as well have beeen robots.

The other family took the other extreme. They spent all their time on their hobbies and interests but virtually none on self improvement.

I guess it all depends on preferences. What is more important, leisure time & enjoyment or money and materialism?

i didn't watch tonight's episode! :( But i wouldn't be suprised. are u talking about the mom that had glasses?
anyway, i wouldn't be suprised b/c a lot of the famillies on there are shallow, unimaginatiave, rude, and all that other stuff u said. If FOX got plain old families, who would watch the show?
