We have an in home daycare and we rarely have a child cry this way. He cant relax, stays wound up, parents can't console him either. He is 3 mos old. Doctors say that there is nothing physically wrong with him. All the normal feeding, loving, cuddling, pacifying, music, white noise and rocking doesn't phase him. He wakes in a crying rage, is startled by anything. His cries sounds like he's terrified. 2 Behavioral phsycologists said they don't know what to suggest, just hope he grows out of it. Even looking right in his eyes and cooing at him and making love noises doesnt help. Parents work and can't get any sleep. Need ideas. Thanks and God Bless.... Kristy...

Could be that you are stressed so the baby is feeling it off you. Try to be calm around the child & I know that can be hard, when I have had a bad day my kids pick up on it. My youngest is 9 months old he will only be a sod after a bad day at work.

If this is an infant we are talking about, consider that the infant may be picking up on the conflicts/issues/problems that may be present in the household. It may be that the child is on high alert status, i.e., they have an abnormally high sensitivity to sounds or sudden movements. Please understand that this may be a neurological condition or a condition relating to the family of origin.
