I used to work in the service and i know what you are talking about. So i ALWAYS tip 20% and higher.

I always leave a minimum tip that is 20% of the total bill. Sometimes, depending on service, I may leave more. It is my understanding that servers often work for less than minimum wage, and depend on their tips heavily. For that reason alone, I would never not leave a tip, nor make it less than the 20%. Even if the service isn't the greatest in the world, I appreciate the fact that they have a hard and demanding job dealing with the public, and are often up on their feet for long hours. I think it's a small price to pay to make someone feel a little better about themselves and the job that they do.

I usually do about 15-20 percent. I look at the bill and judge the tip on that. For the server not to get a tip would take being ignored for a long time for no reason.

I generally tip 15%. If the server works the table (has fun with us) and shows they enjoy their job, then usually more. If the server never comes around to see if we need anything then they get less. I never "dont" tip. I know how hard of a job it is and everyone has a bad night every now and then.

Basic tipping rate for me is 15%....if the service is above average I go up from there....my hair appt cost about $120 something...I gave her $150 because I was so damn pleased with the results & her nature during the 3 hour appt.

If there was a problem & a sincere apology was given, then I will still tip 15%......people aren't perfect and we have no right to expect perfect service. No matter what, a tip is still given.

If a waitress isn't nice, polite, and top of things, I won't tip. If she makes me wait too long before bringing or asking me if I want a refill, same thing. If the service is mediocre, I will just leave 1-2 bucks. It takes several mistakes for me not to tip at all though.

I tip 15% for good/great service and 20-25% for super service (which is very rare and has only happend twice!).

Good service is just so hard to find these days!

Well as soon as we sit down i see how long it takes to come over and its nice to know the specials your having and to have an upbeat attitude that makes me feel welcome and i dont like to wait for my drinks like if i;m left at the table with just ice the waiter must stay on top of that and i don;t want my food to get messed up because the waiter didn;t write it down after i told him/her because that cause me to have to wait for it to be prepared correctly also stop by periodicly to see if the dinner is okay and if the table needs anything, just a few tips that i;m sure you already new but i usaully leve 10 dollars if i get good service now if i;m with a big party or something we will all chip in on that

I tip double the sales tax..I usually don't do more than that becaue I am on a tight budget but never less than double the sales tax.

To Not Tip, Spill food on me, Hair in my food, Wrong order, Burned something, Flaky waitresses.
