So, I was playing this game today with my friend, and since he was losing, he decided to move his king next to my king. He also says that kings cannot eat kings, and when you put a king next to a king, it's stalemate. I, however, disagree because my king can run away from his king. Is this true that you can force a stalemate by putting a king next to a king and that kings cannot eat kings?

King next to King= illegal move. Player cannot move his king next to opponents.
Because of this, his king (or yours) cannot eat opposing king. Tell him he needs to make a legal move. Getting a rules list would help.

no you cant put king next to king. if you put your king next to him, he can eat your king. u can only stalemate him by putting his king at a corner and there is one space in between your king and his where his king cant move anywhere.

no, because you can't move your king into check. with only two kings on the board it is automatically a stalemate

Read article 3.8 of the official chess rules from FIDE:
http://www.fide.com/official/handbook.asp?level=EE101

A king may move "to any adjoining square not attacked by one or more of the opponent`s pieces."

In the case of castling, "Castling is prevented temporarily ... if the square on which the king stands, or the square which it must cross, or the square which it is to occupy, is attacked by one or more of the opponent`s pieces."

Thus, there is no legal way for a king to move adjacent to another king.

Yes, your King can "eat" (capture) the Queen. The only time the King would not be able to capture the Queen is if the space the Queen was on is protected by another piece. Can the King be captured by another piece after it captures the Queen? If your answer is "yes," the King can't capture. Otherwise, "eat" away!!!

no, because by moving their king next to yours, your opponent would deliberately be putting themselves into check, and that is against the rules
