I am 5 weeks pregnant and I was at the doctors for a sono yesterday because my progesterone is low and they wanted to be sure everything is ok.
Well it looked fine they said but they want to repeat the sono in 2 weeks to be sure the baby is viable....has a heartbeat...at that time. Then if it is they are going to give me progesterone supositories to raise the level.

The question here is how worried should I be? I mean I am terrified right now.... but should I be so concerned. I don't know anything about hormones....and so I am not sure.

Thank you to any one who answers this one!

I wouldn't worry just yet. This is pretty standard for anyone with lower than normal progesterone levels. Even if the levels were good, the majority of OB's check around 6-8 weeks to make sure that the heartbeat has started-it isn't just because of your levels. I will say a prayer for you and I am sure that everything will be OK.

I really dont want to scare you, from what I know, a pregnancy needs progesterone and if your level is low, there is a chance your pregnancy wont come to full term. Now if your Dr is confident that the progesterone suppositories will help you, listen to them. It will increase the chances of carrying to full term. I truly hope you and your baby well in the future

For the sake of your baby, don't stress. I know it's hard, but for the matter of this situation you need to get your mind and think for the best.

You are in the best care. You have a little body in you, and everything is going to work out just as it should. Take a deep breath, get your husband to give you a foot rub, and eat a vat of ice cream. :-)
