I was climbing my bookshelf in the living room yesterday, but it toppled over on me; after the dust settled, I realized that the cut I got on my thumb from the butterknife reopened and bled all over the carpet in the process.

Also, any advice about how to fix a dent in the floor below a carpeted floor would be appreciated...

Hydrogen Peroxide on a blood stain will break down the stain and it will disappear. Apply, let bubble, blot stain with a white cloth or paper towels. Repeat until stain is gone. This works well in the laundry too on blood stained fabric.

blot it with cold water. Get as much of it out as you can. Then blot with club soda to get the rest. Do not rub it, rubbing pushes it deeper into the carpet.

It may take a few applications of the club soda, but it will remove it and will not stain your carpet.
